Celebrate With Saint Patrick
Saint Patricks Day is associated with everything Irish. The Irish are descendants
of the ancient Celts, but the Vikings, Normans and English contributed to their
ethnic nature. Most Irish are either Catholics or Protestants.
Saint Patricks Day is celebrated on March 17th. That is the day when
Saint Patrick died. He died in the year AD 461.
One tradition of today is the Shamrock. People adopted the custom of wearing a
shamrock on this day. Legend has it that if you find a four leaf clover
(shamrock) you will have good luck that day and something good will happen to
you.
Saint Patricks Day came to America in 1737.
In American communities with a large Irish population, there are big celebrations
with parades, "wearing of the green," music and songs, Irish food and
drink, and activities for kids such as crafts, coloring and games. Sometimes they dye
their fountains, rivers and streams green!
One place that has a wonderful celebration is Savannah, Georgia. Make your Saint Patrick Online Reservations to visit our
Savannah Saint Patricks Day Celebration or any Celebration around the world. Hope
to See You there.
